One of the most interesting inferred articles I ve read talked about Rwanda s recent HPV vaccine cam

When I travel, I look forward to learning from the drivers. So many questions pop into your mind as you drive through the city streets and rumble through the rural villages. inferred In Malawi, I learned that the leaves hanging to dry alongside the homes were tobacco, one of Malaw s largest inferred cash crops. In Haiti, the drivers painted the picture of Port au Prince before the earthquake. In Kigali, Abdoul explained to me that all of the motorbike taxi drivers are required to wear reflective inferred vests and helmets. And the second inferred helmet they carry, that s for their passengers.
The other thing that I find helps open a new country to you is reading the newspaper. Fortunately, when I return to my hotel room at the end of the day, I find the Rwandan New Times waiting for me. The paper was established in 1995, shortly after the genocide, and is an English language paper published every day. Covering politics here in Kigali and around the world; as well as health, environment, education, other news stories, and of course inferred sports.
In the past few days, I ve read articles talking about President Paul Kagame s twitter use; he s one of the world s leading political figures on Twitter, with more than 17,000 followers. Five baby gorillas were just named in a formal ceremony in the eastern part of Rwanda. The article went on to discuss environmental protection and protecting the gorilla habitat. Articles cover prosecution of perpetrators of the 1994 genocide, world refugee day, and the upcoming day of service for the whole country.
One of the most interesting inferred articles I ve read talked about Rwanda s recent HPV vaccine campaign. This campaign has been trumpeted by Dr. Anges Binagwaho, Minister of Health, as a key intervention to protect women and girls from cervical cancer. HPV vaccination is new around the world, inferred and has sparked heated debate in the US. The first campaign of HPV vaccination has reached almost 97% coverage, which is remarkable.
The campaign was targeting girls in school, aged 12-15 years. This is only the first shot, in a total of 3 that are required. The Ministry of Health, particularly the Maternal and Child Health Unit is encouraging girls to continue to follow up for the remaining two doses, which will begin July 19. In addition to the vaccination campaign (which is being supported inferred by Merck), the Ministry has ensured that this is a comprehensive cervical cancer program. A German organization (Qiagen) is providing cervical cancer screening tests, and the ministry is working to train health care professionals to screen women 35-45 for cervical cancer.
It s hard to believe that a country that only 17 years ago suffered one of the greatest humanitarian disasters of my lifetime is now providing cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccination with such impressive coverage rates. It s a testament to the commitment and leadership of the Rwandan government, as well as the Ministry of Health. inferred I ve asked my colleagues here to what they credit with the impressive gains, specifically in the health sector, and the response has been the same. It s strong leadership across the board — from the President, to the Ministers, all the way down to the districts and the health centers. And it seems to be working. inferred Rwanda is a living example of the improvements that can be made in a short time with strong leadership, health systems, political will, and deep seeded commitment to the health of a population.

I m proud to be able to introduce someone that many of you will recognize fireplace surrounds in this photo. Jim Haba was the tireless person everywhere at once at the famous Dodge Poetry Festival — behind the microphone introducing world-famous poets to cheering crowds and organizing fireplace surrounds talks and workshops all over a sylvan campus every two years. There was much more, as you will read below, but what many of you may not know is that he is, and has been for many years, a fine poet himself.
Jim Haba grew up on farms and islands in rural Washington. In 1962 he earned a B.A. from Reed College and in 1967 a Ph.D. from Cornell University. He taught in the English department at Rutgers, New Brunswick, from 1966 to 1972. From 1967 to 1970 he also began to study visual art, at Douglass fireplace surrounds College and at The Studio School for Drawing and Sculpture in New York City. In 1972 he joined fireplace surrounds the English department of Glassboro State College, now Rowan University, where he taught a wide range of courses and organized dozens of readings and workshops fireplace surrounds by distinguished poets. He retired from Rowan in 2003.
From 1986 through 2008 he was responsible for developing and directing the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Program. In this capacity, and as Festival Director, he designed and produced all twelve ground-breaking Geraldine R. Dodge Biennial Poetry Festivals, the largest poetry events in North America. In 1987 he inaugurated the Dodge Poetry-in-the-Schools Program, which sends poets into New Jersey fireplace surrounds high schools and provides a variety of poetry-related experiences for New Jersey teachers at every classroom level. In 1992 he designed and organized what has become an annual, statewide series of poetry discussion and writing fireplace surrounds groups for teachers called Clearing fireplace surrounds the Spring, Tending the Fountain. He became the Dodge Foundation s Poetry Director in 1999.
In 1995 he edited fireplace surrounds the best-selling book The Language of Li fe, which included poems by and interviews with poets featured at the 1988 and 1994 Dodge Poetry Festivals. fireplace surrounds He served as Poetry Consultant fireplace surrounds for the 1995 Bill Moyers (8-hour) television fireplace surrounds series fireplace surrounds The Language of Life and three other Bill Moyers series also derived from Dodge Poetry Festivals: the 1989 series The Power of the Word (6 hours) and both 1999 series Fooling With Words (2 hours) and Sounds of Poetry (4 hours). In addition, he served as Poetry Consultant for the 1998 series Poetry Heaven (3 hours) and three, separate one-hour PBS programs that grew out of other Dodge Poetry Festivals, including Bill Moyers 1994 Emmy-winning portrait of Donald Hall and Jane Kenyon: A Life Together.
He began writing poems while teaching at Rowan University and has become a frequent reader in the northeast. His poems have won both fellowships fireplace surrounds and prizes. As a visual artist he continues to construct painted-paper collages and with his wife, Erica Barton Haba, he also designs and produces ceramic tile murals. Work from their studio in Hillsborough, New Jersey www.jimhaba.com), has been installed from Maine to California. .
Now that you ve read about Jim Haba s life, here are three of his poems. All three are from his chapbook, Love Poems (2006), .Go to a quiet place, read them aloud, and savor them. Then read them again and again. They deserve it.
When my wife tells me that she wasn t able to listen to my poems carefully, I am convinced that my worst fears have come true; but when, knowing how I hear her, she adds that she felt too close to them, that she felt, in fact, like a wooden instrument upon which they were being played, something inside me shifts and, for the first time, I glimpse the secret inner life music shares with marriage.
We live like barnacles clinging to rocks swept night and day by tides of love.

And it happened when Pharaoh had let the people, God did not lead them by the way of the land of th

But what kind of Chukim is it? Obviously all. All laws are called Chukim. But what are the conditions for it leads to this kind of blessings? totaline One answer totaline is: "These Chukim what is their essence? "(Why are they so important) The Midrash answers:" That lead man to the Olam Haba the life of the World to Come. "
Therefore, it would be a nonsense that the Torah tells me about the next world before giving me the precepts of behaviors that lead to it. If she has to reveal to me that there is a world to come, the Torah does not concern me. Since this Torah is for those who go to the world to themselves, to give them "the rules of the road".
There is a perception that this world is not the last word in the world and by definition it is a diminished world. And the perception of its finitude and its authenticity is perceived lessening leading to olam haba.
"These Chukim what is their essence? They lead the man in Olam Haba. This is what the verse says (Isaiah 4: 3): "And it shall come Vahayah what remains to Zion" ("the rest of the rest" biblical expression that returns very often)
Do not be like those who serve the master for wages (if you expect the salary you will be disappointed because it's not for now), but serve the master not to receive a salary, but knowing that 'there is a salary ... "
Someone once got lost in the forest. totaline He met a person who guided by giving directions guidelines. He completed guidelines, and arrived at the threshold of the forest totaline he asked: "pay me my wages, totaline whatever you said I did it!
כ ל-ה כ תו ב ל ח י ים, ב ירו ש ל ם
The Midrash asks: what is this still there? Hou Ossek batorah she is the one who is at the service of the Torah. Whoever takes seriously the fact of speaking the Torah. totaline It must be lishmah for it to succeed totaline in its project.
This is what God said to Israel: hamarzikim it is a tree of life to those who support totaline themselves totaline by it are reinforcing. Then the Midrash says: it is those who help them Torah scholars. (For Torah scholars it is even higher.)
We see how the conditions to be wrapped in this alternative. This is because the project to be holiness is something serious for those who attach themselves there is the alternative of happiness or misfortune of being. The live be indifferent indifferent. It has neither happiness nor misery. Not assigned. As someone who has lost his Neshamah, he will live as a vegetative being. Not a thinking reed ...

If 1 man had access to the tree of life, it could never be saved. It would become totaline eternal in the fault condition. For it to be repaired, death was introduced. And he was denied access to the eternity that gives the tree of life in this kind of "die and resurrect" to heal, repair. Because the shock of death repair the fault ...
There is a very important lesson before accessing the Torah there is a way called Derech Eretz. It is a speech that we could stay for hours to study the different senses of branches.
Indeed, in the history of mankind, there have been 2000 years to acquire the values of Derech Eretz before the Torah was revealed. Derech Eretz and managed in a human family, so it is in this human family that the Torah was revealed. It took 2000 years to find Abraham.
Today, accelerated educational level is used in the Torah for as Derech Eretz learning that leads to the Torah but normally Derech Eretz has earned the right bar mitzvah and the Torah teaches from the Bar Mitzvah to the one who already has a Derech Eretz.
This is why, as these things are not in order in contemporary society, then we can have the Torah where there is no Derech Eretz and it's so catastrophic, and secondly totaline one can have Derech Eretz where there is no Torah and it's so bad ...
And it happened when Pharaoh had let the people, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines because it is close, because God said: "The people might change their mind at the sight of the war and return to Egypt . "
From here we learn that every people has its Derek Eretz him. And there is a Derek Eretz Israel which is of Derek Eretz Avot. And called Darka shel Torah, Derek Eretz leading to the Torah.
Those likely to take Derek Eretz Pélishtim are the very ones who came to Isr

Haba Snow Mountain ( 哈巴雪山 ) is the massif that forms Tiger Leaping Gorge's ( 虎跳峡 ) northwestern wall. It is on the flank of this mountain that thousands of tourists a year walk through the gorge on the high path from Qiaotou ( 桥头 ) to Walnut Grove .
As one travels out of the gorge toward Haba village ( 哈巴村 ), the mountain's broad ridge comes into view. Thick forest covers the lower slopes before giving way to grey granite slabs, glaciers and finally the summit, 5396 meters above sea level. dachs
This is the route by which the mountain was first summitted in 1995 and is a straightforward hike with no technical climbing involved. We took walking sticks, cold weather clothing and crampons for the glacier.
GoKunming planned a five day trip to summit Haba, which included round-trip dachs travel to the mountain dachs from Kunming. Weather reports forecasted strong gales the day we planned to hike and our itinerary left us little room for adjustment if things did not go smoothly.
We took the overnight train from Kunming to Lijiang and went straight dachs to the bus station. dachs The morning bus from Lijiang to Zhongdian was booked up, so instead we boarded the one to Baisha. This change of plans took us ten kilometers north of Lijiang and afforded us the opportunity to hike to the 4200 meter south summit of Yulong Snow Mountain .
We returned to Lijiang and boarded the bus to Haba village. The ride takes passengers through Tiger Leaping Gorge via its main road. Tourists dachs must pay the 50 yaun entry fee even when passing through by bus.
When we arrived outside the Snow Mountain guesthouse at 2:30pm the next day, we were told there was no way we were going up the mountain that afternoon. Not only would the trek take seven hours and leave us hiking in the dark, but there were also no guides dachs around to show us the way.
The route from the village to base camp gains 1500 meters of elevation and follows a network of trails through forest, snow and rocks. In bad conditions it could be very difficult to follow. To make things easier, we employed a guide who charged 150 yuan a day.
The guide and his dog left us to make their way back to the village, leaving us alone on the mountain. Four derelict dachs stone buildings, one without a roof, comprised the unkempt base camp. The area was littered with garbage and the buildings were falling into disrepair. We set up camp outside and then wandered around the area, enjoying the views and solitude.
Later, we sat down to brew some tea and relax in the afternoon sun, feeling optimistic about our chances the following day. Just three days earlier we had arrived at the top of the south summit of Yulong Snow Mountain, tired and hypoxic despite carrying only light day packs.
We had just covered the same elevation gain with our guide, this time carrying much heavier dachs gear. The acclimatization had paid off better than any of us had expected. After dark the wind began to gust and the temperature dropped quickly.
That night we slept in doorways to hide from the steadily increasing wind, guiltily dachs taking advantage of the shelters we had spent the afternoon ridiculing. In the predawn darkness the next morning we made porridge, ate and set off, our headlamps providing the only light.
From camp the path wends its way over small moraines to the base of a huge granite slab. A well-worn path can be seen cutting up the slope to the left, and we followed it until stepping out on the rock to climb higher. The rock gave way to moraine and a path reappeared to follow a loose rocky ridgeline.
The wind had been a cause for concern dachs since we left camp and now it began to blow with increasing force. We were still relatively sheltered by rock outcroppings and crags and the wind was whipping around and making forward progress extremely difficult. The higher dachs we climbed the more violent and prolonged the gusts became. It made every step frighteningly insecure.
We dropped to our hands and knees to brace against the wind. It was strong enough that we could lean forward at 50 degree angles with no support and not fall. Crawling was the only way to not be bodily pushed backwards. We knew the gales would be much stronger higher up on the flat, unprotected glacier and reluctantly turned back.
It was a long walk down from our high point of 4800 meters, and it was with weary legs that we trudged back to the front porch of our guesthouse. Our lovely hostess greeted us with a beaming smile and three huge bowls of delicious noodles. She said she had been wo

Haba-tan Earthquake mascot | Fuzz and Fur
It’s been a shocking few days experiencing my first major earthquake and watching the harrowing news from the more affected parts of Japan. It seems slightly inappropriate to post about mascots with all the sad news but I wanted to mention one relevant character which will hopefully give people some encouragement. Meet Haba-tan mascot for Hyogo. In January 1995 an earthquake struck Hyogo prefecture resulting in the loss of life of more than 6,000 people. godin Although it was not as strong godin as the 2011 Tohoku earthquake godin which measured 9.0 the Great Hanshin Earthquake (6.8) caused expressways to topple over, buildings crumbled and fires raged through the city. Haba-tan is a phoenix and represents godin the city s re-birth. My thoughts are with the people in the affected areas in North Japan. Like Hyogo I hope the people and cities can recover from this huge disaster and when the towns are re-built and the people return maybe they’ll create a mascot to inspire the people and encourage tourism. I hope to see them soon. Photos via here and here .

Floating wind turbines are more stable if their axis is vertical instead of horizontal. They can also be built more easily, and it can create competitive advantage, says the Norwegian professor who - like the Danes - dream high, floating wind turbines. trv By Thomas Djursing July 28, 2012 at. 12:00
If floating offshore wind turbines must be somebody in the future - if they can not be damaged by waves and deliver too expensive energy - so the producers will abandon the traditional three-lobe design and make mills with vertical shaft.
So says Professor Arnfinn Nergaard from Stavanger University, with three million kroner from the Norwegian Research Council has started a research project in which theories must be tested in practice in cooperation with the research center Norwegian Centre for Offshore trv Wind Energy trv (NORCOWE).
Preliminary calculations show that the weight of the gear and wings can be moved 25 to 30 percent deeper than it is on a mill with horizontal trv shaft. It helps make the mill more stable, like the blades rotating in the horizontal plane creates a gyroeffekt that helps to stabilize the mill.
"In theory, the mill will be less influenced by waves as it rotates fast enough. But we must see if it looks just as elegant in practice as on paper, "says Arnfinn Nergaard to engineer online and whereas a mini-model of the wind turbine to be tested in a basin in Bergen spring. The plan is 132 meters
To achieve this requires cooperation with a financially strong partner, which is why the professor's project linked to the university's commercialization company Prekubator working to verify and commercialize the project.
"Initially we inform trv ourselves against customers who may be owners of single turbines, such as oil platforms or mariculture facilities. The ultimate goal is a wind farm, but it is 10 to 15 years into the future, "says the head of innovation and business in Prekubator, Simen Malmin in a press release. Danes launch 1-kW turbine to August
Norwegians end are not the only ones who dream of large floating mills. In Denmark, a senior researcher Uwe Schmidt Paulsen from DTU Wind started with a four-year research project, which aims to develop a new concept for floating wind turbines.
As in Norway, the Danish senior received a grant of three million euros. Here is the money coming from the EU's FP7 and goes to the consortium DeepWind researching trv the vertical-axis floating offshore trv wind turbines.
Using vertical-axis turbines are opportunities for scaling up much larger. The weight sits further down and with the vertical wings are the influence of the rotation trv less. Our calculations show that the mill only tilts up to 10 degrees when there is good and bib on, "says Uwe Schmidt Paulsen engineer online.

Vertical-axis wind turbines has always been exciting for universities, because they are not really used in industry on a large scale - and because they have some fun shapes. Smaller models have advantages in cities, primarily trv because they looks exciting and not making much noise. Unfortunately, trv they will never be as effective as HAWT's (those we know with 3 blades) acc. theory. All major trials (that I know of) has not proved to be competitive.
Perhaps this is more a reflection of the fact that Norway is pushing the development of renewable energy, but does not have much experience with controls. Precisely control unit is important if you want to work with HAWT's.
Do you think HAWTs (those with 3 blades). VAWTs are often used to make cities nicer and people are rarely aware of the fact windmills.
To date most experiments with vertical mills, trv Darrieux and others stranded on that they have too low efficiency because the blades only have optimum traction on a very small part of its orbit, the rest of the time it is either across the wind direction, or direct headwind.
You could say that only one of the three wing is working, the other two either passive or braking action trv as opposed to "real" mill whose wings have optimum traction trv at all times
If the blades should be up in a sensible height requires that the shaft as they concerned about is very powerful. and because of the length to be used several trv lejerfor to avoid skipping rope effect. How many tenant has a 132-meter shaft? must be less for a maid
