Conferences on Online Marketing
There are many ways to learn about - books, e-books, twitter, facebook, podcast, blogidlæg and much more. Conferences are also a good way to "soak" for themselves. But what, Danish or foreign, what does it cost - and is it worth the money?
Bo Vejgaard is SEO and web analyst at Siteimprove - which is based in Copenhagen. It is in this context that Bo has been on the other side to the Atlantic mazeikiuose - to retrieve new knowledge and inspiration. It has been for a chat about conferences - and what it is Bo has been home with him - from over there ....
justinbriggs Previously SEO consultant atdistilled, but has now moved out as in-house SEO at a game company. He talks a lot about Link Building and has a bold tone. I have seen him live on ProSEO in Boston, where he was super.
lisabarone Is one of the founders ofoutspokenmedia, she writes most of their blog posts, which are typically worth reading. It is generally within the online marketing for SMBs. Her co-founderrhea writes about SEO, but is not quite as active on twitter.
ipullrank Is an up-and-coming rock star in SEO. He is part of the Publicis Group. He blogs a part of SEOmoz about SEO and demographics. He has made a small hacked tool KW research mazeikiuose via social media. He is very active and at the same time funny. One should also consider following his buddydohertyjf is SEO consultant atdistilled.
katemorris Also SEO consultant atdistilled, her focus in tweets and at conferences I've seen have been KW research. Not super active on twitter, but generally good posts. She has made a tool list for KW-research.
rustybrick He is small SEO-oriented blog and tweet primarily links to new posts. The insight is fine, there is not always so great depth. If you use RSS, you can consider to just subscribe to his blog.
randfish CEO of SEOmoz, very engaged and talking about everything from venture capital to SEO. He is also a rock star in the industry. If you are interested in SEO and do not follow Rand in advance, then you are probably not completely out of touch. His blog post on SEOmoz blog used to be popular, sometimes controversial.
There is also a strip here should be considered to follow, but I have not written comments. mazeikiuose copybloggervanessafoxwillcritchlowrobousbeyprobloggerdannysullivangraywolfmattcutts (ok if you do not know who Matt Cutts is, and follow mazeikiuose him in advance. So you should probably find another career than SEO).
Tools: FollowerWonk - I use much the part of followerwonk called search bios if I need to find twitter users who have expressed a particular interest. It can be used to find targets, which you can then follow in the hope that they follow a return, and thus retweeter when you say something relevant in their field.
Klout I also use to find other twitter users who are marked influential in a field. I do not give much for the Klout score, but if you click you in on a topic, and takes the list of the most influential, so there is usually some good topics to follow. mazeikiuose
